Delicious place to try balinese babi guling & their pork satay are to die for. Worth the traffic jam to come here. The Ibu will greet you with warm smile. This place accept card with 2.3% surcharge except American Express card with 3.5% surcharge. Worth the try! Must visit.
Authentic and delicious babi guling!!! Ibu Gendut is a ‘must try’ if ever in the Ubud area. Prices are reasonable with a large portion of extra crispy roasted skin for only 50k. I have already been there twice and plan to return again before my Bali trip ends!
Had an amazing meal here for such a cheap price! Would recommend the ribs, satay, and of course their babi guling (the skin is to die for). Their sauces in particular were incredible and not something you can find elsewhere. I also went with a couple foreigners and even though the place wasn’t the most hygienic, they didn’t end up with any stomach issues afterwards (though they did take Travelan beforehand which helped).
Great food and very fair price. Very friendly staff. Highly recommend to try their Pork ribs. My parents really liked the sauce of pork hocks and ears, amazing to pair with rice. Their juice was also amazing.
I discovered this spot while visiting Ubud during a Babi guling food feast. It’s undoubtedly the best one I’ve tasted in the region. The flavors are fresh, and the combination of herbs and spices is expertly crafted. The soup is incredibly flavorful, and the sambal pairs perfectly with the rice. I had the pleasure of meeting the owners, who were exceptionally friendly and generously let me sample a few dishes on the house, which was such a kind gesture. We chatted for nearly an hour about food, as I used to own restaurants abroad and have a deep passion for global cuisines. The skin of the Babi was delightfully crispy and cooked to perfection. It was so good that I returned later that night to try their pork ribs, which are an absolute must. I urge everyone to give it a try. It’s incredibly delicious. The marinade and the smoky flavor were truly fantastic. This has become one of my top five Babi guling spots in Bali. I can’t wait to visit again. A heartfelt thank you to the owners and the wonderful staff for making me feel so welcome.
Amazing food and service! The pork satay were so delicious, juicy and nourish, perfect balance of savoury and sweet with the citrusy pineapple. And the lovely owner of the restaurant really made our night! He was so welcoming and accommodating, made us feel at home! Such wholesome local business. We will definitely be coming back here again when in Ubud!
Visited Babi Guling Ibu Gendut in Ubud and had such a satisfying experience! If you’re a fan of rich, flavorful Balinese pork dishes, this place is definitely worth a stop. Here’s what I tried: • Pork Satay: Juicy, tender, and grilled perfectly. The sauce was the highlight—rich, slightly sweet, and full of spice. One of the best pork satays I’ve had in Bali! • Cukiok: A great addition to the meal with bold, savory flavors and nice textural contrast. • Nasi Campur: A generous portion with all the classics: crispy pork skin, tender meat, veggies, and sambal. Every bite was full of flavor and beautifully balanced. The soup is refreshing and delicious! • Pork Ribs: Fall-off-the-bone tender with a smoky aroma and just the right seasoning. A must-try if you visit! The setting is laid-back and local, and the staff are friendly and helpful. It’s a great spot to experience authentic Balinese comfort food at honest prices.
